Two things make plugin advice in Obsidian go stale faster than anywhere else.
The first is that the most-compared plugins usually do different jobs. Tasks tracks checkbox lines, Kanban draws a board, Dataview queries metadata — putting them in a table as if you had to choose one is the wrong question, and it is the question every list answers.
The second is age. Plugins here are largely written by volunteers, and a plugin with millions of downloads can be years past its last release while every blog post still recommends it. So each page below names the current version and its date, taken from the project itself.
These are written by someone who sells a competing plugin. The section arguing for it is last on every page and marked as biased, and where the free combination is the better answer, the page says so.
