Navigation and global pages#
Sidebar navigator#
- Header shortcuts: Search, Notifications, Trash, Reminders, Short notes, Docs Manager
- Global: Today, Everything, Recent, Bookmarks (favorites)
- Spaces tree: Space → Folder → List → Doc
Expand/collapse branches, drag to reorder where supported, right-click for create/move/export/template actions.
Sidebar placement (per device, does not sync): embedded in the InventTasks view, Obsidian left sidebar, or right sidebar — Settings → Navigator sidebar placement.
Global pages#

Favorites#
Star an Item, List, Doc, or saved view. Place favorites in:
- Bookmarks (Global section in sidebar)
- Quick Access bar (narrow bar at bottom of main window)
- Favorites panel (Obsidian right sidebar, like Backlinks)
Toggle each in plugin settings.
Deep links#
Copy links to items, lists, folders, spaces, docs, views, or the workspace (obsidian://inventtasks?...). Cross-vault links prompt switching Obsidian vaults; cross-workspace links switch the active InventTasks vault entry.
Back and forward#
Toolbar buttons (and desktop shortcuts) restore prior locations, including open docs/pages and re-opened items.
Views#
Every location — Everything, Space, Folder, or List — can present the same item set in different layouts. Switch from view tabs or keyboard shortcuts.

Calendar pills and Gantt/Timeline bars can be colored by configured standard or custom fields. Gantt and Timeline can export the current chart as PNG or PDF.
Toolbar (all item views)#
- Group by — status, priority, tags, due date buckets, custom fields, …
- Sort by — multiple rules, asc/desc
- Filters — nested AND/OR on standard and custom fields
- Show closed — include Closed status group
- Subitems — hide, nest under parent, or show as top-level Items; nesting is visible in List, Table, and Gantt
- Customize — show/hide/reorder columns or card fields
- Save view — name and persist the current setup
- Search in view — quick filter within results
Saved views live in _views/view-*.md below the owning location. Reorder them in the views bar, favorite them, set one as the default, or update it from the views bar menu.
