Docs, templates, and trash#
Docs and pages#
Docs are hierarchical Markdown knowledge bases. Create from the sidebar (New Doc) or toolbar (Add Doc). Open in Doc view (explorer + preview) or Edit in Obsidian for the underlying files. Link docs to items from the Documents section. Docs Manager lists all docs with search.
Pages support subpages, icons, colors, move between docs, and deep links.
Templates#
Save as template from Space/Folder/List/Item menus or the item modal. Stored in _templates/. When creating or applying, pick elements: configuration (statuses, fields, features, calendar rules, …), saved views, item field subsets, subitems, actual contents.
Manage via Settings → Manage templates or command Manage templates.
Trash#
Deleting an Item, Space, Folder, or List in InventTasks soft-deletes it to _trash/. Open Trash from the sidebar or command palette. Deleting a Doc or Page uses Obsidian's configured file-deletion behavior instead of the InventTasks trash.
- Restore — returns to the original path when possible, or asks for a valid destination
- Delete forever — permanent
- Empty trash — purge all InventTasks trash entries and their attachments
- Automatic cleanup — stamped InventTasks trash entries are deleted permanently after 30 days
